We just finished the modern rifle spike bull hunt down there. You will see some good bucks; getting a shot at them may be a challenge although we did have a 3x2 spot us and come from 400 yards to investigate and spooked at 20 yards when the hunter moved his arm. Even I could have made a good shot on him. You are probably looking for something bigger.

Suggetion: Get a "GREEN DOTS" map for Naneum. It shows which roads are "open". The roads are very rough. The Tariscan Road is gated at the lower end. Have fun.

what kind of good bucks are you talking about. This will be my first deer with a bow and i am only 16. Did you guys get any spikes while you were down there?

Hey JK. Any chance that you live in Ellensburg? I mostly hunt the park creek area of Quilomene. Its pretty much all sage but there are some scattered trees. I would reccomend you go deep into the quilomene and find some timber so you can get a closer shot since you are bow hunting. You really do stand a good chance at a decent buck in there. Good luck and congrats on the draw!

No i live in Sedro-Woolley, Wa about 60 miles north of seattle. I have never been to the quilomene so if you could give me any advice about the unit it would surely be appreciated. thank you
