Trail Cam Help

Hey guys, this last week I bought a Moultrie 5.0 Trail Camera. I was so excited to get it. Well, I set it up on a little varmint trail behind my house, and it took 129 pictures in 5 hours. Every picture was just of the trail except the very last one and it was a picture of a skunk. What do I need too do to get it to only take pics of the moving animals???

Sounds like maybe the wind was blowing and it might have just been getting the movement of brush or what not I would say get it centered on something like a tree base and with more open area around it.

also don't point it straight across the trail. point either up or down the trail so the animal is in the cameras view longer.

Too hot! Sets the heat sensor off and then it just needs motion to trip it. Any wind moving the brush will set it off.

BUT was he trophy class,

That's the hardest thing about trail cams. You have to keep the moving brush and grass out of field of view. Cut it all down.

Then have the cam angled about 30 degrees from dead down the trail. If it's 45 to 90 degrees to the trail they will trigger it, but not be in the pic.

Water, salt, food plots etc... are great ways to get the critters to sit still long enough to get good pics.

Cheers,
Pete
