otc colorado elk

hey i go to the airforce academy and am new to this elk huntin buisness. i got an archery and 2nd rilfe season otc elk tag. im just wonderin if any of yall got any tips for me or dos and donts on what to do. i plan on huntin 511 and then south of woodland park round cripple creek area cause its the closest. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Kramhunter, have you touched base with the cadet outfitter's club? The NCOIC, MSgt Dennis Scott took over for me and he has a wealth of knowledge about hunting in area 511...he took a 5X6 two years ago just behind the Academy and has had other run ins. In my experience of hiking in behind there I've seen a fair number of elk hanging out not far from Farish.

thanks for the info elkhunter71. i need to talk to him about it i am part of the outfitters club just didnt get to do any hunting last year.
