Here is a pic of the buck I was able to harvest the last day I could hunt in AZ. He is a 28" wide 4x4. Although from a distance he looked like a monster 2 point. Very crabby forks.. I was able to make a good quartering away shot at 44 yards. He expired less then 40 yards away. Very fun and rewarding hunt to say the least.

With a bow! You are a true blue, dyed in the wool, diehard, hardcore, bowhuntin fool. Congrats on a big buck.

Thanks Guys, Fin, it was a fun hunt and this was the biggest buck I seen. I did have the rifle with me just in case I happened to come across a monster that I knew I couldn't get close to. This guy was starting to rut and wasn't to concerned about me. Guess he should have been.

Congratulations again Jeremy. I bet all the rifle hunters did a "double take' when they saw you walking around with your bow. :) Way to go amigo!

crabby or not, great trophy! With a bow makes it even better. Not many hunters can say they shot a nice buck like that with a bow. Good job. thanks for sharing. Headbones.

Awsome buck man! You got some big ones to carry your bow during the rifle hunt, I wouldn't have enough huevos to do that. Very impressive. You said starting to rut? Where were you hunting in AZ that they are already starting to rut? That shouldn't start until late Dec. or early Jan., although if you were on the Kiabab or strip they might start earlier. I'm not very familiar with when the Kiabab and strip deer start rutting.
Either way, it doesn't matter, you got yourself a heck of a deer there bro!

jdh,

So, what you going to make me feel inferior about next?;-)

Let's tally up the 2004 and 2005 score.

1-360 something trophy bull
1-P&Y Mule Deer
1-380 Non-Typical Bull Elk
1-Very big, mature, nice mule deer with great spread

AND I KNOW I MISSED SOMETHING(S)!

You do a fine job jdh. You really do.

Is this a unit 10 buck?? I killed one similar, not as tall but similar about 5 years ago in 10. someone said crab claws were typical or atleast happened often.. PM me if you do not wish to tell what unit.. god knows 10 is a big unit heheh

congrats,, awesome buck with a rifle.. or bow..

Thanks for all the kind word's fella's.

Oldshed, the buck was shot on unit 12B near the utah/AZ border. Pretty sure it was a Utah summer buck and an AZ winter buck. The rut is just in the beginning stages around these parts.

No doubt ktc, I have been fortunate over the years.
