I was just thinking of future years and how to try to plan to best use my available points and opportunities. So,,,, are there any areas in Utah that offer a good chance for drawing with 6 points,,,,, then, provide a good hunt for a 300 plus bull?

Todd,
If you are a non-resident of Utah your oddds won't be nearly as good as if you were. I would say that alost every LE unit in Utah is very capable of the bull you are looking for, especially the southern portion of the state, but with 6 points archery is your best bet if you want a somewhat decent shot at pulling a tag soon. I would say that your best bet, whether you are a non-res or res, is to put in for an awesome hunt not expecting to draw and just build your points. Who knows, maybe you'll beat the odds and be one of the lucky few who draw an amazing tag with a few points. My buddy's dad drew a SW Desert muzz tag with 6 or 7 points, and then the next year he drew one of 2 desert bighorn tags with only a couple points.
I am in the same stage as you. I think that it will be worth it to wait a few more years for the hunt of a lifetime. Just my opinion.

If you are a Non Res maybe look at the late hunts. I drew a late LE tag this year with 5 points. I got lucky but a lot better odds then a early rifle hunt.
