Help scoring this bull

i dont think quite that big narrow not to long of beams imo maybe stretch it to 360-370 i could be wrong just my feelings on it

wow....nice...look at those thirds even. If he has any shortfalls it is inside width but he's got enough of that too. I think he'll make the 380 goal

great post/pic, thanks for sharing

That is a great bull. What he lacks in mass and width, he makes up for in tine length. 1 tru 5 are really long on both sides. I'd put him at 375.
Close enough, tell your friend to pull a tape on him once he's down, he's a shooter.

I think he's over 380 but not by much. you might want to jjst keep him as a back up bull. I would try to find one that you know is going to break your mark.

Great bull! I think he would gross in the mid 370's. Looking at the fifths and main beams, and even the fourths, this bull is going to have some deductions. Net high 360's. Remember, if the bull is 375, and his goal is 380, 5" differance over 12 points, less than half an inch per point.

I would guess in the 360s, all around big bull, but not that huge, my opinion only, some of these Utah boys have seen a lot more bulls than me and would be better judges.

I'd say his 1's 2's and 3's are all pushing 20 inches. I'd give the right royal 20 inches and the left royal 18 inches. The rightg g5 i'd say is 12 and the left g5 i'd say is 8 inches. I'd give the right main beam 56 inches and the left beam 52 inches maybe. I'd conservatively give him 55 inches of mass and a 38inch spread credit.

That comes out to 379. I may be an inch over on the g1's and g2's but thats the point when score doesn't matter. That bull has the looks of a 380 to 390 bull. He wouldn't survive the first day on my hunt I can tell you that.

By the way, what kind of tag is that your buddy has? I've never heard of one.

Boy he is a nice bull. Let him have it. I'd say he might come up 380 or just under. Great looking bull and if your friend likes him - pull the trigger.

stinkystomper: the tag is good for any open hunt in the state, but you must hunt with the designated weapon for that hunt. It's a once in a lifetime type of hunt and I agree that this bull should hit the dirt on the first day if it was any other tag. Thanks everyone for the scores.

WOW! that is a one of a kind tag...... thats a very tough decision because that is a very nice bull. I can completely understand your point though. That bull is only pushing 380 so for that tag I would keep looking. Hows Nevada's bull production been lately. Is that a shooter in most units or are there several units with much much better bulls??? Totally clueless as far as Nevada goes but that looks like an awfully good bull.

Thanks

Beautiful bull. He is not huge in width, overall length, or mass, but the tine length makes up for most of that. Either way, I'd put him at 370ish. Or maybe he has a HUGE body and is really a lot bigger than he looks. Your buddy would be crazy to pass him up.

I think Nevada still has good bulls, but there are fewer of them. They are giving out more tags than ever and bulls aren't reaching the age class they need to be really big. I had a bull tag a couple years ago and didn't see a bull this nice. I would think this is a shooter bull in most any unit, but I mostly chase muley's so this is just my opinion.

He is about as close to 380 as they come.. When he drops him let us see a photo and a score

I agree with Stinky and UThunting, He's pushing 380. Does He pull the trigger? Man, I'd give almost anything to have that decision and how many sleepless nights would I spend because of it? Tough position but, Thats a nice bull anywhere!

When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.

Did they do away with the early hunt on the Monitors? seems like it cranked out a few giants then went silent.

I think that bull will gross 380, he also looks like he has his best years still to come.(I mean nothing by that, just sayin)

That is fantastic bull! Even with that tag I would have a very hard time not taking the shot. I think he meets his 380 mark.

Good luck to the hunter.

Total 381-383 Gross

If you like the bull shoot it. Don't be so caught up on the score. I have seen some 370 bulls that I would shoot before some 390 bulls. This bull is a great bull. The sords maybe 22-23 inches. This sometimes makes the inside spread look more narrow. Also long tines sometimes can make the bull appear to have less mass. This bull is a solid, nice looking 380 bull IMO.

Great video - what an awesome sight!

I would say this bull will gross over 380 but net a little under when all is said and done - at any rate he is a heart stopper.

Got one on the wall that grosses 378 2/8... my bull has better mass and width but this bull has much better 3rds... I'm guessing them in the same class for sure... I'll bet this bull grosses in the low 380's and nets low 370's... maybe 375....

I think everybody guessing in the 370's is real close. Shooter in my book anyday.

I say no he doesn't make it 380. Not a wide enough inside spread. 375 Tops. I'd shoot him if the opportunity presented itself.

Reddog, They still have the hunt but no NR tags this year. Or I woulda drawn. :) Anyways, a resident with a PIW could hunt that hunt. Looks like he did it with a bow!!!!!!!!!
