Congratulations, nice buck, looks like quite a bit of snow. This was the late Pogue unit hunt, correct? Let's here the story.

Nice buck,

Littlefoot, hows your sons hunt going, you guys seeing lots of bucks, must be no shooters yet as there is no pics posted

Man I wish people would keep there mouths shut before they here the real story. They just got to chime in.

I was thinking the same thing Kirk. Everytime an ATV is shown, the ATV police are the first to comment.

Apparently some people didn't notice the log landing pile behind the ATV and that I'm parked in the road. Since I was by myself, and he dressed out somewhere around 200 lbs, I had to drag him down the road with the ATV till I found a cutbank that I could lower him onto the back rack. Anyway, the migration was slow in coming and the deer started stacking up on one hillside. I went in on Monday morning and saw this buck running with a couple of does at 75 yards. He looked pretty good and without much time to make a decision, I lowered the boom on him. When I got to him, the ground shrinkage set in. I had seen 2 bigger bucks in 7 days of hunting and was hoping for something real big. As it turns out, he is a mature buck with a 20" spread, 20" tall with 8" forks except one broken tine on the front that is only an inch long. He measures 1 3/4" diameter at the bases. Unfortunately, since I was hunting alone along untracked roads in alot of snow, I had to close the deal before I was snowed out of the area.

People cant see past the ATV so they have to whine and cry soon as they see one. They got nothing else better to do. Next time I wouldnt even explain yourself, you knew you were legal so screw em. Let em whine.

Again, nice buck.

Nice buck, and cool pics...I would also say well earned as I am sure the snow did not make it any easier physically.
Thanks for sharing!

That dang ground shrinkage, great looking buck and the area looks just great, Looks like you had a good time with the snow and and the bucks you saw.

Nice buck. Actually the first thing that jumped out at me was the ATV, but after looking closer, it appeared to be on a road, so no biggie.

Congrats on the buck. Just curious why people would post pics with an ATV? I think it takes away from the focal point of the photo and just creates additional contraversy (sp) on a thread that should be celebrating your trophy.

Any you studs have photo evidence that ATV's cause damage to the environment, cause I ain't seen any yet, just a bunch of hot air...?..

That's a good deer man.....doing it by yourself isn't always easy. I'd be happy with em'. Congrats to ya.

Heck yes hes a good buck ! I take him . Congrats on a nice deer ! Did you get to see any rutty type action ? Jan is just around the corner and would love to find a buck like that,,,Thanks for sharing ....NMHUNTNUTT

Actually muleyman, you were the one that started it with a comment about the ATV without knowing the story.
Next time, give the guy a chance before starting a problem.

Your right, I didn't see the wood pile and jumped to conclusions. In the past that I've seen too many ATV's in the woods "off the beaten path" and it's wrong. Sorry Kirkl for the comment.
