Hey Awholelottabull how are those burns going to effect you that they are going to do up in 2nd to 4th waters. I know you hunt alot up in those areas dont you. Is it going to screw any thing up for you?

Put it this way...several years ago they did a "prescribed burn" in first water when I had my bow tag. It moved out every animal from first to second water and then some. They didn't come back until after the hunt. I don't think I will be concentrating on the waters this year. I am not sure why they have to do that during hunting season. What I am worried about is the "controlled burn" issue. That fire down by Cedar City started by lightning & was managed as a "controlled burn". We can all see how well that has worked. With all the dry weather lately I think this could be disastrous!

as dry as it is, the Fire out here by LA will be Utah by the end of the season, it has been burning for 3 days and it only 5% contained.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

I hunt up by you guys and I figured I would ask the expert for those areas what they are going to do. I was thinking the same thing as far as I am not sure if I really want to be around when they are doing it. Also I think the same thing about the elk I am not sure if they will be around much with the fires. Thanks for responding

I'm flattered but I'm by no means the "expert". I take that back...I'm an expert BS'er. If you see our camp stop in and say hello. I'm sure there will be a cold coke or something refreshing in the cooler for you when you get there.

back when I was logging, we had to be shut down at 1:00 because of fire danger yet would drive by the FS setting prescribed burns.

These people are idiots.

hey Wapitebob.... When exactly do you think they should do a prescribed burn? Perhaps when it is raining?....

Nope, I think they should do it during the driest part of the year and wait for gusting winds of 60-70 mph. Now that's using your brain there. Hell springbear, maybe you could start it in the "spring" so it can burn all summer long. I bet Kid Rock would write another song to that one.
