Has anyone hunted this area (CO unit 144)?
What can I expect in the late season (Dec 1-14)?

snow wind, more wind then some more snow. The rut should be winding down but buck will still be cuising the old rub area looking for that last doe-in-heat but the old er class buck will be looking to fuel back up for the long winter, I would be hunting food sources and still checking out herds of does, but most likely you will find that big one in a out of the way field or creek bottom that is out of the wind and have little or no snow covering the food.

That's great info. You seem to have a lot of knowledge - have you hunted this area? What's the trophy potential compared to other plains units?
