I hunted in the northern part of the post Saturday and Sunday. The fog covered the top 2/3 of the hills and I couldn't see more than a 100 feet in any direction. I walked all day Saturday and saw one doe and one fawn. Sunday was very much the same. I saw a group of guys with a decent buck, thick bases with four inch forks off main beam, and one guy told me to try the south end of the post. I went there Sunday afternoon, but as you guessed it, the fog covered the hills. I'm going out the last four days of this week and I hope a mature buck is there for me. The Saddle Mountains look like great mule deer country, but I think I'll try the southern part Thanksgiving day.
Sunday morning I passed on some coyotes hoping for good karma. I've got my lucky rock. I'm carrying a new knife, maybe I should put the old one back on. I need some old fashioned hunting luck my way.
