hey guys,im looking for any info on where the elk will be after the rifle hunters get done with them on sept 23 my hunt opens,i have scouted down here about 14 times this year,ive seen alot places elk have been but not where they are,any one that has one area or a whole bunch of places to try.even people that drew archery tags,help me out please.im also going to post an add about horse rentals down in this area if you guys know anyone.thanks

A good place to check would be the local meat packing houses. I'm just kidding. I don't even know about where your talking about. I just felt the Devil wanted to come out of me and I turned into a smart a$$ all of the sudden.

If you are looking for horses to pack out your elk, contact Dell @ 801-465-9646. He lives in Payson and is very familiar with that unit. You should be able to find a good bull. It will be hard to find a high scoring bull but score is over rated. The experience and the hunt is what is important.
I called a nice (320-330) class bull right in last week. It went perfect, if my daughter would of had a tag. I was able to set her up perfect for a 30 yard, broadside shot. He stopped perfect, whistled and looked around before coming in to 10 yards for me. To bad a spike or a cow didn't do the same. Needless to say my 15 year old daughter is hooked!!!

HEY THANKS,I BET YOUR DAUGHTERS HOOKED,IM ALSO TAKING MY 8 AND 14 YEAR OLD SONS WITH ME ON THIS HUNT,MY 8 YEAR OLD HASNT BEEN OUT DURING THE PEAK OF THE RUT LIKE THIS,IM HOPING WE WILL ALL HAVE AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE,I KNOW I MIIGHT BE ABLE TO HIKE FARTHER OR CLIMB STEEPER HILLS,BUT I WANT MY SONS TO EXPERIENCE THIS WITH ME,IF MY DAUGHTER WAS A LITTLE OLDER I WOULD BE TAKING HER TOO.ITS ALL ABOUT EXPERIENCE.I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KILL BIGGEST BULL I CAN. IT GOOD TO HEAR MORE PEOPLE TAKING THERE KIDS ON AN ARCHERY LIKE YOURS OR A LIMITED ENTRY,THATS USUALLY WHEN KIDS GET LEFT HOME SOMETIMES. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR INFO I WILL GIVE DELL A CALL.

Thanks!! She said she was hooked right after the cow left. Hope you have a good time. Your kids will have a blast. We have enough horses and mules, packing one out is a piece of cake. One trip. Packed many out of that area. If you need help. Should be some good ones left after the rifle hunt. The muzz hunt should be a blast this year.
