We have 1 Dutton early rifle elk tag, have been there for 10 days, we have been hiking 10-20 miles per day, don't desire to hire a outfitter rather do it on our own (a lot more rewarding) we have seen lots of bulls just not the one we are looking for. Any help or direction would be awesome. we are planning to stay thru the end.
Thanks in Advance

Well, it will be alot more rewarding if nobody gives you help or direction. If your seeing alot of bulls then your doing ok. keep on glassing and moving looking for the big one

+1 on Dryboots comment

If you are seeing bulls you are doing the right thing. My dad ate tag soup on the ML hunt down there last year. It was hard because we passed bulls every single day, got down to the last two days and couldn't get him a shot on anything.

My only recommendation is to be careful what you pass on. There are a lot of average bulls with traits that make them GOOD bulls. After my dads hunt was over we were looking through pics and video I had taken and we kicked ourselves for passing on more than a couple bulls.

My ML Dutton bull only scores 340 but his mass and palmations got him killed. He looks as good as my brothers bigger bull IMO.

?Life is like a ten speed bike. Most of us have gears we never use!?

I think it is funny I agree totally with dryboots if you think its more rewarding to do it yourself then do it yourself dont expect people to give you free info good luck and be carefull what you pass on
