Here is a bull my friend shot off Dutton last weekend. We did some glassing Friday night. There were tons of bulls and lots of singing. It was hard to stay focused.

There were several bulls this size and one that was noticably bigger.

We were on the bigger bull at first light but something spooked the herd before hunter made it to their canyon. (He could have killed it if he would have stayed with the spotters!!!) It's the first time I've ever seen a herd of elk stampede. There was a loud rumble and a cloud of dust when they moved out. They were still going 3 ridges later. They covered a 1/2 day walk for us in about 30 minutes.

I had to leave in the afternoon but it was pretty quiet at that point. They were able to find this bull not too far from where we spotted him on Friday.

Truly a fantastic hunt. We saw a lot of elk of all sizes and had a great time.

Excellent bull, way to get it done.

I chased a bull that was very similar to that one two years ago on the ML hunt. Doubt it is the same bull but it brought back memories. I liked him for his brows, the two of us danced all day but he never felt like giving me a good shot.

?Life is like a ten speed bike. Most of us have gears we never use!?

Congrates to the hunter, I just love that Rock and hope to draw the tag again before I check out. Thanks for posting.

There's room for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed taters and gravy.

I have seen that type of brow tines on several bulls coming from the Dutton and Monroe area's with that one browtine sticking out kind of straight.

Nice Bull hoping for a good one like him in NM.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

Thanks drop. I'm looking forward to your post of good tidings next week!!!

Very very nice bull, that is great!
I would love to hunt the Dutton again, just a great place to hunt elk

thats one hell of a bull probably in the top 5 taken off the unit this year. congrats

Really nice bull. Attaboy for your friend! The Dutton lives up to the hype this year eh? I had a ball tiptoeing around on those loose rocks during the bow hunt .... what a cool place!

That is one of those bulls that you dont whine about the fact that his G-2's are short, ya just bust him till he drops. Fantastic bull. Congrats

mus,

I'm typically free with info on the P.M. board; however, that was my first time on the mountain and it wasn't my hunt, so it would be lame for me to give any specifics. I'll let the shooter answer that if he wishes. I will say the place is no secret. We had a dry camp two miles off of the road and saw three other groups around us opening morning.
