Well I have been hunting aspecific bull for the last few days and finally got a shot at him this evening and MISSED! What are the chances he will still be hanging around the same area or is he in the next county still running?

if you are on the east end he will stay in the general area, if you are on the west end that country is so wide open he could run to the county line. that mountain is so thick they usually dont run to far unless you are in the low country or out west. i saw 2 great bulls down in edmunds last week on the end of the bowhunt and a few were buglin up aroud bare flats up pleasant. if you know the area you will know where i am talkin about. good luck i hope you find a great bull, take lots of pics.

I know how I am. If it is a bull I really want I would go in again to make sure he left. Would not be able to stand it otherwise.

I have an update! I couldnt believe I missed that shot so at first light i set up a target thinking my scope had been knocked and was off. The shot hit dead center which didnt make me feel any better. I decided to go back to the spot where I took the shot to double check for blood....no blood. I figured I would go sit on a wallow that I had seen him come into after shooting light on the first day of the hunt and wait until the evening to see if I heard any bugles. I had got myself settled behind some cover and was going over the events of the previous evening, still pretty bummed when I heard a noise. I looked up and he was right there 66 yds away. One shot and it was over he dropped right where he stood. He is a stud 6x5 with 56 mains, lots of mass and 18 inch fronts which is really why I liked him. I'll post pictures as soon as I get home, the signals pretty shitty up here on the mountain.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-19-09 AT 09:53PM (MST)[p]Well I got home yesterday and dropped the meat off at the processor and the antlers off at the taxidermist today. I'm still on cloud 9!

Here's some pics of my bull, love the fronts and mass on this old boy...

Beautiful bull! Congratulations.

Great looking bull he does have some Mass.

Congrats again on a great bull. The mass of this bull is very impressive. Absolutely a stud of an old warrior. I still can't believe you did it all on your own, well done.
