While trailing my son's arrowed Bull Sunday morning in AZ unit 9 we were joined on the trail by 4 other hunters who had seen the blood trail. Reed, his cousin and two friends from Camp Verde helped us trail that Bull for 5 hours before losing him. My son and I were extremely grateful for the help and couldn't believe how generous the guys were with taking time out from their hunt to help us. Reed even supplied much needed water as we were running low. There are some great people in our hunting community. On Monday afternoon I took a quick trip to the next camp down from us to say hi. When I returned I discovered that someone had come into my camp and stole my rangefinder, GPS and binoculars out of my tent. Though I was throughly PO'd, I didn't let it overshadow the fantastic people that I met on this hunt and the excitment of making the stalk and my son's shot on the Bull. Good luck on all your hunts.

I hope you find the bull.
I lost 2 surefire flashlights and a box of cheeez-it out of my tent last year in Payson, It really caused a bummer to a good trip.

"I have found if you go the extra mile it's Never crowded".

It would make all the material things not matter to find that Bull. They also took my favorite Cow call.

Sorry to hear the unfortunate news. maybe hang a trail cam to view the camps while you are out. to bad it has to come to that.

My son and I were think about taking the truck out of camp and hiding in the bushes with some bino's hanging in camp as bait. Wouldn't that be fun!

That is SAD! Hope you guys find your bull.

I worry lots of times when I park my truck at some deserted trail head in the middle of no where that I'll come back and find my tires slashed or glass broken.

"Yeah, I'll shoot him"

You know, we have come to think that having things stolen is a "given." It's a shame. It doesn't happen in other sports. We meet wonderful people (like you did) while horse-riding. You don't hear of cross-country skiers being the kind that steal things of slash tires.

Let's do what we can to marginalize the bad ones, and kick them out of our "camp". Let's do everything we can (as you have) to have a good attitude and encourage the good in all of us.

well - hunting season -is like pouring honey out for the bears - It's sad to say but thieves live for this time of yr. they drive the back roads - id camps and really don't have aproblem as far as timing goes - any morning and any evening - we've had trucks in camp and still had stuff stolen - the no flash trail cam seems to be about the only way to catch these low lifes ! sorry for the loss of bull and equipment - next yr I'm gonna offer camp security services - hey who knows -- MM

When I leave my camp I take the valuables that are not going with me and stash them in the woods in bushes or under rocks. Make sure you cannot be glassed when your stashing stuff. Still not a surefire way to keep it from getting stolen. fatrooster.
