Wasatch Bucks???

Is it just me or did I miss the standard flood of big Wasatch extended bucks this year? The lack of snow definitely made it tougher to locate deer this year. How did everyone fare? As always I encountered a few "sightings" and "almosts" but I'd love to see/hear how others did?

Thanks.

I didn't have a tag but I did see a 28"ish 4x4 about 30 yards off state street at 9900 South a couple weeks ago.

Hey, no offense guys, but only in Utah (or maybe Denver) would anyone ever give a street address for a buck hidey-hole.
That was great.

Its not much of a "hidey-hole". 9900 SOuth State St. is main roadway in the city of Sandy, Utah. No hunting aloud. There are some riverbottoms near by, and there are deer around that area all the time.

OK Scott, I understand now. It just sounded funny to hear a street address as a buck location.
thanks

It may be in the middle of town, but I still wouldn't be suprised if some jackass tried to kill it and put his Wasatch tag on it.

No luck to report from me. I did see two good bucks threw out the hunt. In fact I found one buck 170 or so class if he had both antlers. For what ever reason he was missing one side of his antler, only had five or so inches there. He was a really nice buck and I found him Nov 2 or so. He was hiding out on a ridge top, in a fairly common used area. It really suprised me when I encoutered him as I would never expect a buck to hang out where this guy was. Called a taxidermist friend of mine and he thought buck had lost the antler from being shot off? You ever heard of this?

Yes, I shot a horn off of a buck when I was 16 hunting in what is now the Vernon unit in Utah. It knocked the buck right on his rear end. I walked right up to him and threw a rock at him before he jumped up and ran down the hill, another idiot then blasted him. It knocked him down like he had been shot. Unfortunately, I was shooting at the bigger buck and this oversized 2 point got in the way without my permission, bigger buck was fine, and this boy had a headache for sure. So yes it certainly happens.

Had some doe estrus nerf my hunt on the last day, made a sent trail with it, and when the does hit it, they took off like a cougar was chasing them, the big 3x4 followed um :( never use that crap again.

With the way my school schedule was set this fall I was able to hit the Wasatch two or three times every week during the month of November. In the past I have been able to find at least one or two monsters up there, but nothing this year. I was into smaller bucks almost everyday, but the biggest I saw was a 26-27" high 160-class 4x4 on the last day. He was fairly tall and heavy but I couldn't do anything with him due to lack of daylight. Like I said I consistently saw small to medium sized bucks but nothing huge. The snow came a few weeks too late... Ah well, it was still fun.

"No hunting aloud."

How about if I'm really quiet about it?

Just messing with ya!

Yeah, I caught the mistake, but it was too late to edit. I was hoping no one else would notice. Thanks for calling me out! :(

Just kidding, at least my spellings not as bad as Moosie's .

ShotgunJim- You make me laugh man. You wrote exactly what I thought. Like that buck from Beaver, Utah a few years a go. I saw a pic of a guy actually handfeeding it an apple and then some jingle-ass goes and sticks an arrow into it so he can have his "monster" buck for the wall.

it will get nuked long before 200.

Hopefully the hunter will post them. I have seen them and it is an amazing deer.
