Idaho Archery Bull!

Here is my bull that I killed on September 5th. I was sitting in a tree stand overlooking a wallow. I had been in the stand for no more than 15 minutes when I heard a stick snap behind me. When I looked over my shoulder to see what it was, I expected to see nothing as the squirels are thick this year, I about soiled my drawers when I saw him coming in quiet as a mouse. He walked right under the tree I was in and checked the wind, as I was praying that he would not bust me. Apparently I passed the test and he walked around the tree and stopped and looked at the wallow. He stopped and stared down the hill where my hunting buddy was sitting another treestand about fifty yards down the hill on another wallow and because the bull came in so quiet Dallas did not know he was there until he looked up and saw him standing there staring at him. He had caught Dallas moving his rangefinder down to his side. He locked on Dallas and checked him out for what seemed like forever but was only a few minutes. He turned his head and went to step over a log. I took the opportunity to draw my bow and let it fly. I watched my arrow disappear in him. He may have come in like a mouse but left like an elephant! He left the same way he came and was making all kinds of noise. It was cool to look down from my tree stand and see the arrow wrap and fletchings stained crimson. I gave him thirty minutes before getting down. We got down and started trailing him. After finding only one small drop of blood I was starting to freak out. All the fellings of success started to fade to worry. So we split up and went in the general direction the bull was heading. I was on my hands and knees where we had found the blood and i heard Dallas whistle and thought he had found some blood and then I heard him whistle three or four more times in a row. I knew he had found him. As I was sprinting through the trees is his direction the thought of worry were replaced by excitement. After all of the suspense here are some pics of bull!!

Thanks for all the comments! As for the wolves I have yet to see one. I was in the southeastern section of the state and I dont believe that we have been affected as much as the northern part of the state.

Daniel,
Congrats on a nice Archery Bull, thanks for posting.

There's room for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed potato's and gravy.

What Game Ranch did you get that off of....EVERYONE knows there are no more elk in Idaho! LoL. Keep that spot secret is right!
