New Deer region W in Wyoming ?

I believe the WG&F probably made a new region W so they could manage nonres hunter numbers a little better. Some of the units were originally in region D which gave out 3,200 nonresident deer tags in 2005 and were general res tags (unlimited). This area tended to get hammered...and likely still will with unlimited res hunters that choose to hunt there. It will be interesting to see how many nonres tags they hand out for this region. Hopefully they will be a little more conservative because it is usually a zoo!

Excatly right jims. This new region has been in "in the works" for a couple of years now. Hopefully it will lead to better management. That's a great area and could produce super bucks with a little management. I'm a Wyoming resident and I wish it was limited quota for both residents and nonresidents.

So if I understand it right...from 82 west is the new area, rather than have those units east. Isn't there alot of private land from 82 west? I'm only familiar with 82 but from driving around a little seems as if most of those units are not accessable. I love 82 and will continue to hunt it, it gets way too much pressure, I agree. I like it because the pressure is just 100-200 yards off the road and after I come back to base camp after several nights up high, I get to watch the parade drive by...I have considered setting up a hotdog stand and making a few bucks after I get what I'm after. Will the dates change at all for "W"?
