I found this a few years ago.The thread about the deer still in velvet made me think about it.Must be kinda rare to find a shed antler that is still covered in velvet?

I know it may sound strange but I've seen where a doe had grown antlers and still had the velvet on the rack. A person I know had shot the deer thinking it was obviously a buck. The doe hadn't rubbed the velvet off.

That is probably where that shed came from too....a doe. Almost all does that grow antlers will not rub off the velvet. Pretty rare find for sure.

My dad shot a whitey doe a few years back that had small 2" antlers still in velvet. I knew it was a doe so i wasnt about to shoot, my dad saw the points and pulled the trigger.

"Hey, there's a buck covering a doe! Wait a minute... WTH?!?! That guy deffinately needs to be removed from the gene pool!"

Michael~All Gods creatures welcome... right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy.

Deer have some weird anomalies some times. I saw a black and white fawn with a doe in W. Wa. once and my uncle saw a fully develped midget buck in Montana a couple years back that stood 3 feet tall at the top of the horns.

i seem to remember somebody in wa. shooting a 3-pt doe a couple years ago. thought i saw pix in the fishing and hunting news.
it was a muley if i remember correctly
