Picked up at the book store today the latest issue of Hunting Illustrated's Special Winter Issue 2005/2006.

Great reading about this buck and what that Broder Family is doing to each other over the sale.
Also inside is a Article by Arnold Sandoval and it is about one of our own MMer members D13er and his hunt last year down in Mexico for his great Coues Buck. Congrats to you Jef.

PICKED UP A COPY AT WALLY WORLD YESTERDAY .I really like that mag , its right there with Trophy Hunter and Eastmans....Some big mamer jammers in every issue too...NM

Just in case somebody doesnt know, thats the Worlds Record. 355 2/8ths, 1926. Not bad for such an old buck.....

Holy HELL! I'd seen pics, but not like that!

Michael~All Gods creatures welcome... right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy.

I want to hold it too! Maybe even fondle it a little! HunterHarry, you're a lucky guy. I would be smiling just the way you are.

the family got the deer back, put it up for auction and the same guy that won it before got it again for about the same price. A lot to do over nothing

I read the article in Hunting Illustrated yesterday, and looked up the Court of Appeal decision this morning. Don Broder's appeal relating to the estate's entitlement to the Broder Buck was dismissed. His appeal relating to the finding of civil contempt was allowed, on the basis that it was impossible for him to comply with the order to deliver the Broder Buck (the order he had been found in contempt of) because it was not in his possession. The Court of Appeal ordered that Don Broder pay costs in the amount of $28,500.

Hunting Illustrated routinely contains photos of some fantastic trophies, but I can't say that I'm terribly impressed with the article on the Broder Buck. In my view it does not paint an objective and accurate picture of what has actually gone on. That's just my personal opinion, though.
