With all the snow CO is getting this week it sure could make the opener of 3rd season interesting!

I leave Friday for a week - can't wait! :)

I posted this in the colorado forum. I'm really curious as to what the elk will do after going from 60 and 70 degree temperatures to two feet of snow.

In areas affected, should get the elk transitioning into their winter patterns, though that winter pattern won't fully be set until hunters stop chasing them around the hills. Get into an out of the way spot a bull might hang out in after the rut. Steep or few roads, adequate feed and water, clearing slopes, benches, and pockets of timber. If you're lucky, you will have adequate snow to track.

What did the snow do up around the Craig area? Usually this time of year it will snow and burn off in a day or so, leaving some way up high.
