Just got back in and had the hunt of a lifetime. I was hunting with 3 very close friends from California and we knocked down some studs! The first buck was 29 3/8" wide and grosses 205", the second buck was 31" wide and grosses 202" and the 3rd buck was 32" wide and grosses 192" and he was missing a 12" G4. 2 of the bucks were missing points. The guys are putting the story in Muley Crazy and asked me not to post photos but I wanted to give the update I promised. As of right now we have had 10 hunters kill 9 bucks, the guy that hasnt killed is hunting through sunday. 5 of the bucks gross over 200", they gross 202", 205", 208", 210", and 215".

Congrats on some excellent bucks. I guess I don't understand why people do not post photo's on this website because they are going in a magazine. The way I understand it is that these magazines don't really give someone too much for their stories except a free subscription, coffee mugs, and other apparel. I think we get a lot of enertainment for free off a great website like this, and should give back a little free enertainment when we have the chance. Maybe I'm wrong about the compensation amount from the magazine and then I would certainly understand not postin the pics. Anyways congrats on the three bucks.

Are the bucks well into the rut now? We were down there the week after Christmas and were to early. My Dad is going back in a week or so to try to catch a big one with his nose in the air. congrats on your hunts its a fun place to be down there, I wish I were still there.

I received a few pictures within the last week and again can not post the pictures yet. One is 32-1/2" and the other is 38-1/2" and with both racks together side by side, they extend out past the sides of the pickup.

When and if I am told it is OK to post, will put them up here for all. Sorry, but that is what I was asked to abide by.
Both of these Bucks came out of Sonora, Mexico too.

Are the bucks TOO good to be posted here at MonsterMuleys.com? Man, you hurt my feelings! LOL

Just a note to those of you who share your photos here at MonsterMuleys.com----THANKS GUYS!!! It's all your great photos and knowledge that makes this site. And, makes it the REAL home for Monster Muley Nuts.
I REALLY do appreciate the fact that so many of you do share your photos in our Photo Gallery and for our Contest. I, and 30,000 others every month, really do enjoy seeing them. Thanks!!!!!

Drum - No hard feelings. I feel like I was just kicked in the crotch , but that's OK.
LOL Just kidding man!! I really do appreciate your help and what you bring to the site, I just thought I'd give you a hard time.

I'm just feeling a little picked on tonight.
I need to get out of town and find a big buck!!!!!!

OK, I came back to edit my post. Since Drum is just teasing with the Mexico deer, here's one for you all.

Todd B. sent me this photo of the giant buck that John Gisi took while hunting in Mexico. The huge buck is 36 inches wide and gross scores over 220!
Is it big enough?

I was just at the SCI show, when a friend of mine from Ca. walks up and shows me a photo of his 210" Sonora buck he took last thursday.
I almost hit the floor!
30 + wide, A perfect 4x4 with screaming mass and incredible tine length.
He took a monster coues too.
I gotta start saving my money...

Brian,
We appreciate all you do and all the pictures that members post. Say, the picture of the Gisi buck you posted is actually from a few hundred miles North of Sonora....that was the buck he took in Arizona with the Governor's tag in 2005.
Bob

Dittos, that buck is definately not a Sonoran monster. Looks like a Juniper to me.

Congrats to you and your hunters Drum! That is incredible!!!

Nice pic Brian posted, no matter where that stud buck was shot. But why in the heck do guys insist on sitting WAY BEHIND the animal to make it look bigger, just looks dumb IMHO. Kinda looks like he's takin him from "behind"! Again, great buck though.

Congrats! Thats a lot of inches of 'bone'...

Wasn't it you Drum that started a thread about 200+ deer and how uncommon they are? ;) Looks like their a dime a dozen down in ol Mex...

Just givn' ya chit... :D

Huntsonora, your track record is untouchable! I will start saving money from my side jobs and maybe in a couple years I will be going after a hog.
Great job, Mike

Drum,
Them California hunters are friends of mine and have put in their time and deserve those bucks.GOOD for them.I cant wait to put my hands on them horns.I emailed you Drum send me some pictures.I will see Vince next week for sure.

Roger

Way to go! Can't wait to see the bucks and hear the stories.

The AZ buck is a stud too!

Sign me up for 2008! I'm gonna start putting some pennies away for my own Sonoran monster! As long as you're gonna be my guide!:)

Thats great Drum! You did better than me, but we had a great time down there anyway. My dad and I collected 600inches with two guys! 190 and 184 mule deer, plus 111 and 115 Coues. I will post the Pictures next week, (Kilowatt Help!). We had one better than last year and my Dad made a mistake! Hey he is 76 so I had to let him slide.

Lien2......the poor guy might just be hiding behind the buck to cover up his "true feelings"! Can't blame him:)

Like you said, great buck!

Steve

just talked to my dad , a guy he knows just got back from Sonora , shot a nice 4 pt want to say 28" ,,,, but the thing i really remembered was 5,000 just to go and 3,000 more after you kill one ,,,,, 8,000 ,,,, holy crap eight grand for a deer ? Manny's right ,,,, Money , Money , Money

hunts...congratulations to all involved in the hunts...sounds like all had a great time...would love to see the pics....i'm 'riding' with founder on this one...man, i would rather share pics with you guys than take the money....like sellin' your soul....doesn't matter, to each their own, and am still anxious to see the pics....

Man , all the hunts I know about start at about 10 grand. Eight thousand sounds like a bargain. Now, go mortgage the house and make your wife shop the "blue light specials".

Guys, I am not holding out pics because I want to, I am honoring my hunters requests. I promise to post up every one of the pics as soon as I get the word to do so. I guarantee that it will be worth the wait.

Drum

Congrats drum, Way to knock em down!
bring the pictures with ya when you come down to vegas for the UFC fight ;)

I know this posting is a little late, but to those on this forum, I gotta go with Roger on this one. Those guys deserve those bucks as much as anyone I've ever met. Also just wanted to let you all know I am sure Drum will post pictures shortly, and the reason these guys are waiting for the magazine to come out has nothing to do with money. They actually have a very good reason for waiting on that, they just want to pay tribute to one of the men who went on this hunt, has nothing to do with money, the guy has no idea the article is even coming out. That and Drum is the only one that can post pictures later cause these guys wouldn't know how to post pictures on here even if they wanted to. I know these guys well, they do what they do because they love to hunt, trust me when you see the article you will know that it is not for money, and I am sure shortly after that Drum will have some pics for you all.

I'm one of the 3 guys that Drum refers to about the bucks from Mexico. Please be patient with us we are attempting to surprise one of the other hunters. He is one super guy who's had a 60 year addiction to hunting mule deer. Drummond put us more monster desert mulies than I could ever image. WE were able to take some killer still pics of these animals in their natural enviornment. Again, please be patient Drum will show you some great stuff.
