Worked for me... slim to none! Try leaving out the hunt number and just select the species.

You dont have to leave out the hunt number, just make sure you use the 5 digit hunt number with a dash in it. For example,

For the Book Cliffs early LE Elk rifle hunt, dont just put in hunt 338, put in 10-338. If you are having a hard time finding the full 5 digit number you can go to the DWR page and look up last years draw results (the place where you wish you saw your name last year), and you should find it in there.

With 6 deer points I am close for some good muzzleloader hunts. Bunch of CWMU's but I have no clue which would be good areas to go after. Might have to get on the phone and start calling.

That is an amazing site. I had done this longhand to get my odds for certain units, but it sure is convenient to have a program which spits out the TRUE odds, not that published bs put in the DWR Odds Booklet.

It is purely based on last year's points and applicants. I had a 1 in 1,300 chance of drawing a Wasatch moose tag last year, and I had 11 points last year (12 this year). A guy with 0 points had a 1 in 15,300 chance at a Wasatch moose tag. The Sportsman's Draw has WAY better odds.

I don't understand this. If I am NR and have 3 points for Bull Moose some units give me a 1 in 1.0 in the Bonus Drawing and no chance in the regular drawing. How does this work?

You have enough points to get a tag on the bonus side. Remember bonus tags are awarded to those with the highest number of points. If you have enough bonus points, you won't even have to worry about the regular drawing- you'll already have a tag so your regular drawing odds are 0%.

You guys relie on points to much..you still got to have luck.
I drew twice in seven years for the Paunsagunt any weapon..
and never even busted a cap.. Never found that 40" saw a few mid 30" though. I did catch something from that blonde chick who works at McDonald in Kanab. They see outta state plate they flock you.

Utah isn't like Wyoming yet where you have to have x amount of points to draw. There is still chance involved????? or luck if you are more inclined to think that or real lucky in case of the Mcdonalds chick.

Thanks for the tip! I have studied draw odds before from the DWR site out of curiosity. I have applied since the beginning of time and accumulated a bunch of LE elk points. I have only obtained points in the last 5 years, since my brother and hunting buddy died, and started having kids. Just don't have the time for scouting and hunting nor as big a desire, but in a couple of years I'll be ready. I have a good chance in most units and quite a few are 100% (although never a sure thing). I think I will begin to accumulate LE premium deer points, so I have a chance in 20 years!
