As a Non-resi which is a better unit to apply for with archery tackle. I know the Pauns is better for trophy quality but deer quantity is also important with a bow for multiple stalking opportunities. Actually I do not feel the need to kill a monster, I'd be happy with a nice, mature 4X4 that is respective of the area. That said, any thoughts?

Right now it would be the Paunsagaunt - however by the time you draw for either the Book Cliffs might be better. Good luck - if you can score a land owner tag - the Pauns is a better choice right now.

I heard the book cliffs was good this year. A friend saw a lot of muture bucks and had multiple opportunities. The pauns is a bit harder to hunt in my mind. After what I heard this year about the book cliffs and hunting the paus, two years ago, my vote would be book cliffs. Although your odds of getting a bigger buck would be bettter on paus. My opinion.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-24-06 AT 09:12PM (MST)[p]For sheer numbers of mature bucks and access to public land......Bookcliff's.

For a chance at a true once-in-a-lifetime buck...Paunsagaunt.

You will see more ATV's and Keystone light cans in the 'Cliffs than branch antlered bucks.

Look how many tags they give out there! 300+ rifle tags alone.
