Broke-rack Bulls

Just curious how many would pass up a bull like this hoping for a bigger bull, or one with a nicer-looking rack. Two yrs. ago, on my first bull hunt (which turned out to be a tag-soup affair), I would have gladly taken a bull like this, even though there were reportedly lots of 340-380 bulls around (I did see some through spotting scope, however)

It would depend on where I was hunting, this year I shot at a bull that was a nice 6 on one side but was broke off after his second point on the other, I was bow hunting and missed clean.

If I had a really good LE hunt I would pass on that bull in your picture but that dose not mean I would pass on a bigger bull that had broken a couple points.

There are alot of varibles to your question.

Passed lots of broke bulls this year, 2 were probably shooters had they been intact. But a trophy is in the eyes of the tag holder.

I have a hunt coming up in a few weeks and I think almost every bull I have seen while scouting is busted up. I have seen a bull with one whole main beam broken off and another with the main beam broken off above the 3rd. It is going to be interesting to see if we can find bulls without too many points broken off. I guess when you have a good bull to cow ratio you have lots of competition.
