This past year while guiding a client on a hunt I saw probabally the rarest deer in the world. Not an Albino they occur about one every 500k or so no i saw this beautiful young lady. She has a twin brother Do not jump my ass for the spelling but i believe it is called melanistic Mule Deer I got these photo's of her. So here she is in all her glory with some of her girlfriends.

Finally the buck we got he was not the biggest but we he has alot of character he is a 6x5 We got on an exceptional buck but he was way way cagey and with a Cap and Ball Muzzleloader well lets just say he knew the game. SO we killed this buck last day with 7 hours to go

ya theres one runnin around on monroe my dads been chasing for quite a few years, We've called it the Black Buck. I've never seen it, but from my brother / dad have told me he is almost completely black, I'll have to ask if his velvet is as well.

We were hunting Coues several years back in S. AZ and my brother swears he saw a black buck.

Cool pictures.

Here's a photo of her brother, I'm assuming HighDesert and I are talking about the same deer. Sorry about the photo quality, it was snowing hard at the time.

Out on Kennecott's property there used to be some elk that looked kind of like that. They called them grey elk. I saw one of the bulls. The bologist out there said there were 3 elk out there like that. It was a pretty cool thing to see.

Wes if you took that near FG then it is the Prior years buck fawn the mother of this doe had a fawn the previous year to when she was born so 2003 that was also melinistic But we could not find him this year during the juniper season. No one knew where her twin brother was Until after the season i saw him and he was a spike this year. That doe just has a dominant Melanistic gene so that is cool. I am going to apply for the tag they are located in I got a few points to burn maybe i can get lucky and harvest one of the boys this next year.
