NM Dream Season

Finally getting around to sharing some picks from a great elk hunt with my kids. The boys drew good tags and I drew a tag for a different unit 3 days later. Not sure how my hunt was to come out I was concentrating on the boys hunt. Once the boys were done and I figured it couldn't get any better then this, a good friend called and wanted me to hunt a bull he had been watching. Well I owe him a big thanks for the tip on my bull.

My youngest, age 9 took his bull at 318 yards with his great granddads Pre 64 Model 70

Thank god for good friends and horses to help with the packing jobs.

Thank you all MM folks for the advice.

Congrats on a dream season! Dad, you are going to have to work awfully hard to top this year! Great stuff!

Holy Mackeral!!! You got enough elk steaks there to last a few years. Way to go! And gorgeous bulls; all of you should be higher than a kite with those!! Your 11 year old's looks like a mastodon half-breed; you need to check its genetics.

Congrats on a great hunt. The memories of your kids taking those bulls will bring smiles for years to come. Great job on all 3.

Nice Job,
Dream season is absolutely right!

HunterRob,

Just wondering what unit's you were on. I'm looking to put in for a archery hunt next year in New Mex. I just want to hunt mature bulls again. Here in Utah all we can hunt are spikes and that kind of gets old. Not looking for units with monster bulls just bulls like yours and your Kids.

Great job on your hunts, theirs nothing like hunting with your boys and having them be successful.

Hey Ruger67
I don't know Rob but I'm gonna go ahead and answer for him. I am positive those bulls came out of 52 and 6c here in NM!!!

Congrats Rob- Awesome bulls!!! Love the front end on your bull!!!

. Hey Ruger and Sorry Pistolero these all are Southern bulls

Ruger, there a lot of good units in NM if you want to hunt mature bulls. There?s a lot of opinions on witch unit are good or best, but get a copy of the regs. for NM and if it has a Q or HD by the hunt it will probably be what you are looking for.

Thanks to all for the complements and it was a joy to be able to watch both my boys try to burn the barrels out of there rifles getting ready for there hunt. They set there standards and stuck to them and it paid off. It was truly a dream to watch them take in every thing Mother Nature had to offer and not just the hunt, and watch them caring there great granddads, and granddads rifles. I'm sure they were smiling from above watching it to

Rob

where you gonna put all that meat!

so 9 year olds can hunt big game down there 'eh?

We filled up a lot of family and friends freezers.

In NM you can hunt at any age as long as you can pass hunters safety. Both my boys took mule deer at age 6

These pictures need to be in the dictionary right next to the word "PERFECT" because they truly define the word. Great job fellers.
