LAST EDITED ON Jan-30-06 AT 08:22PM (MST)[p]To me it is sad that all 4 of those mule deer world records are owned by collectors and not the hunter or his family.

The Arizona state record typical was pulled from a landfill.
Shows what some family members think of a dusty set of deer antlers.
These collectors will at least hold on to a valuable commodity and often times have the racks on public display for everyone to enjoy.
Look at the Cabela's display.
Thousands of people get to marvel at the largest display of world class Muleys.
Hell, B& C had their awards meeting at the Kansas City Cabela's.
Many times the racks offer a greatly needed source of income for the family that sells it.
Yes, in a perfect world the hunter or his family would be able to proudly display the magnificent trophy for eternity, but in reality, s--- happens.
Just my $.02
