ive got a newbie bow hunter that is itching to go elk hunting next season. im not looking for any big bull places, just a starting point for a over the counter tag that he will at least see a few! i never hunted colorado before and dont know where to start. thanks in advanced, jason

You will have to do some homework.Go to the Colorado DOW web site and look at the hunter statistics. You can get a pretty good Idea from there.

I tell most people if they want to kill a nice bull in Colorado with a bow start by hunting a wilderness area. There are good elk in all of the wilderness areas in the state. Start with that then as you learn an area you will find spots that you like. Good luck!
