Most of you know I'm the pesident of DHI and this month has been my busy.....Uhh (Busier.......) than usual month.

For those that don't know what DHI is, It's a non-profit membership organization committed to maximizing deer populations within the state of Idaho through direct financial support for habitat improvement, research projects, and hunter education.

Anyways I usually make a post sooner but here is the Order form for the DHI banquet this weekend.

Right click and Hit "SAVE AS" on the link below for the order form :

Please call ASAP if you're going to be there. It's going to be another Great year. We have ALOT of cool things and giving away alot of good prizes.

Bottom line its a good time and a Good cause, And Although the Money we make is small in comparison to other "National" clubs. We can Account for all our money. (that was a Slam that the person it was intended for should get, but truth be told, even if you're not a member of DHI, please join some Non Profit hunting organization.)

Thanx fellow hunters.

Moosie,Mike from California, I was reading your article on your
banquet. I have hunted Idaho the last four years,I have done very well. I am the on the committee for the California Deer Assoc. 75% of money raised, goes back into projects, just like
DHI. I am with you 100% on the National Clubs, they have a different accounting practices, thats why we split off. If you have any speical raffles at your dinner, let me know, I can't
attend, but I will help if you have tickets to sell. You can email me at [email protected] Mike

Good luck Moose-breath, no seriously.. Good on you for your efforts & passion to help out Muleys, if I knew there wouldn't be life-size photos of you everywhere, I might attend one of these years. In the meantime you have this antagonists support.

ChaseMike, thanx for the Offer. We're selling raffle tickets but it's gonig to be a (Should be there) type of thing. I've had a Few Guys from (California Actually)from my web site that sent some Cash down to put in the Buckets and I have people not buying tickets locally to Manage them. (All to keep everything fair. Pre Banquet we write all the Numbers down with their name on it).

We have 9 Guns on the tables and 15 guns total. With a "small" 350 person turnout to our little event thats a 1:20 odds of walking out with a gun. We still make a deal of money since alot are donated guns. Comercial Tire actually donated $1,000 toward our DHI Engraved rifle. (Thanx Guys, just a little plug :)

Kudos to you and your Org. I know how time consuming they are !!!

B_F_E, This year I only made 3 life size pictures of me. they are going in a Silent Auction to raise money. I've Cropped a target Circle over my heart and Lung area. I've also put a target in my "nether Region". I figure if someone could hit something that size they should win something for sure !!!!! *wink*

I've gotten allot of Emails and Replies and Thanx. One of the biggest thanx I've gotten was from the Stat Big game manager Idaho Fish and Game. Brad's a Great guy and usually makes it to the Banquet but can't this year:

"I've really enjoyed your banquets in the past. I hope you are satisfied with your presidency. I believe DHI is a leading sportsmen's group in the state - willing to collaborate on efforts to improve deer hunting - not just throw rhetoric around of how things should be. This is a reflection of your leadership. I wish you the very best and hope you will continue to work with us as we find new and better ways of improving deer hunting in Idaho."

I posted Cocky (? Who me? *wink*) a few years ago about what I was going to do with the Club. Some said it looked like I was making it the "MOOSIE SHOW". That was my intention, Draw some attention and get people thinking. Hopefully over the last couple years the Actions we've done showed that it was the Walk and not the just the talk. Hopefully in the Future the momentum can continue. I still have people saying I should be doing this/that but when we're Collaring Fawns, Planting Bitterbrush, and organizing projects I never see them there.... Funny how that works. I had some personal agenda's and I've met them. Some will take that Statement as "I" did it, that's what's wrong with some people. I'm saying the goals were met that I had. Mostly because of others. Several stood up and didn't just talk the talk but also made the walk. My goals were Organization, Member Growth, a New Chapter, and a Youth program. Although it's far from finished, We're moving faster in all the right directions. And with help from ALOT of others..........anything is possible.

I will be stepping down this weekend. It was a fun/hard 2 years and I'm moving on now. I'll still do the DHI Magazine and be involved but just a little more under the Radar. (Go figure) I'm going to shift over and work more with the Youth program to make sure that goes well.

Anyways, Hopefully I'll get to see more then Youngbuck (Who is one that shows up for activities).

We'll post pictures after the event. The banquet has more people registered then we were expecting and looks like it's going to be another great dinner.

We have an on going Great Donor base. I'm going to plug 2 guys (not to exclude others that do but I have a picture to go with these guys *smile*). But guys that really donate and put back into hunting even though they are on top themselves. Doyle has been a Great sponsor and friend for a few years now and the Eastman Boys (Guy Especially) Makes sure we get whatever we need. this year we were late getting to him and He made sure stuff was Shipped Express service for us. One thing we do every year is Hand out a Gordan Eastman conservation award and Guy came down last year to had it out. Here's a "personal picture" from last year with Doyle Moss and Guy Eastman :

Anyways, Back to planning the Event...............

You have done an awesome job with DHI and I hope they commend you for a job well done. You certainly brought alot of resources to the group. Its funny, I always thought my plate was full until I saw "your life". With what your able to accomplish with home/family/friends/work/voluntary/ and fun, its hard to imagine one could keep up with all of that and still manage a solid family base. Way to go. I am not an Idaho resident but feel that they are very fortunate for your efforts.
I'll buy the next Choc Shake.
