Concerning deer, what is the difference in applying for a Region "D" tag, or a specific unit within that region. If I draw a Region "D" tag, can I hunt all specific units within that region???
I guess I do not see any advantage to applying for a specific unit.

Generally if you want to apply for a specific unit, you will also be applying for a specific "TYPE" of hunt. If you just draw the regional tag you can hunt all the units in the region, but only during the general season. For example, you can apply for a Unit 109 type 1 tag, which is a limited quota tag and the hunt is the first two weeks of November. You could not hunt unit 109 during the general season because it's not open during the general deer hunt. Otherwise you could put in for a regional tag and hunt all the "GEN" units in that region that have open general seasons for deer. Also type 1 tags in most cases are limited entry for bucks, whereas type 6 tags are for doe/fawn tags and type 9 tags are for archery only.
I hope this helps.
