unit 12 in nm

anyone ever hunted this unit in nm i heard of some big bulls there, but not a lot of elk feed back would be great????

Ive hunted it a few times. it took me at least 14 days of scouting each time just to locate some elk. then it took longer to find the bulls. unless u have a month prior to the hunt to locate and keep track of some elk ur gonna have an interesting hunt. unit 23 is better in my opinion. it doesnt have all the private issues as does 12 either

Private land is an issue. You can have a good hunt but need some access. There are some good bulls that cross the highway from unit 15.

Ive seen some of the biggest bulls on the hoof .cross the hwy. west of Quemado,by the rest stop area
