LAST EDITED ON Feb-08-10 AT 02:00PM (MST)[p]Paul was finally able to finish mounting and repairing my bull after recieving several pictures and 1 video of the bull i killed this year b4 he was busted. I've never seen a taxi do antler repair that looks so real b4. i had my reservations about this so-called expert taxidermist but now my doubts are proven wrong. I'm completely stoked at how good Paul is at what he does. below is a trailcam pic that 3 separate people sent me of my bull in the velvet. then theres the busted up kill pic and finally the completed work. i would post the other pics n video but some people helped me out and wanted to leave their pics n video off the net so i wont post those.

Stink
mount looks GREAT! He did a fantastic job. glad to see he didn't use a WAAAAAAAY oversized stump like he does on the mule deer. The bases (stumps) are so huge and overwhelming it really takes away from his great taxidermy work.

Looks pretty good Tony! You cannot argue with that. That is one smoking bull for sure. I would also get a couple of good pics of him with the broken tines framed up as well - to preserve ALL the memories. You $$ was well spent by going with Pennie.

broken i got 347 slamdunk got 340. this was the dry score.

fixed we are estimating him between 384 and 389.

Awesome bull Stinky!! Mount with all the broken points fixed really brings him back to his full glory. It's too bad you didn't kill him with a stick and string.

yes he will b at the expo. i believe he will b the first thing u see when u walk in if i understand mr pennie.

Sorry stink my Bighorn sheep is better looking. Stop by and check him out I'll let you buy me a beer and maybe sell you on a nice sheep hunt.

Great looking Bull and a outstanding mount. You should hang it at Mom's house. I think it would be nice hanging there.

Great bull stinky! The mount looks awesome too. Hey are you going to be giving shooting lessons at the expo?

NO GUTS, NO STORY!!

I will be the odd man out. I had the privelege of holding this rack in my hands a week or so after it was shot. I think the broken points give it character. I can tell you that even with the broken points it was impressive. The taxidermy work is very good and the bull looks great.

OMG its russ! u post pics of our gila stud when ur nephew gets him back. got it! lol. good to see u around

He did, check out the thread titled the Porcupine Bull....... Sorry couldn't resist..... Nice Bull!...... Terry

Hey Tony,

Saw your bull a few minutes ago at the expo. It looks really, really great. Paul did an awesome job fixing him up. Even looking really close at the broken horns it's tough to tell. I was way excited to see it. I enjoyed hunting with you on Dutton last Sept for a few days. Unbelievable how it all worked out. Wish my hunt would have gone a bit better. Oh well.

Are you coming up to the show?

Rob

Great looking mount! Do you (or anyone else) have photos of your bull on the base? Would like to see what the entire mount looks like!

If its an average 350 bull, that extra point has to be 37 inches to put it in the 380's. May as well call it an extra main beam.

Not trying to be a d-bag, and I know what this bull means to someguys on this website, but theres not a chance in hell that that is a 380 bull.

Why not just say congrats on a nice bull and leave it at that? This is the very reason some people don't post pictures of their animals on here.

I will never say anything that could be taken in a negative way about anybodys pics. The bull is a hell of a lot bigger then anything i've ever killed. On the other hand, if I talked up a buck that I killed, and claimed him to be 180, then posted a 150 buck, I would expect some serious bashing. A 350-360 bull is an awesome bull in my book, so why do we need to add 20 inches.

well in an attempt to try and calm u guys down here is what his measurements were. rg1 16...rg2 16....rg3 20.....rg4 20......rg5 13.....rmb 52.75
left side
lg1 17.....lg2 16(est).....lg3 20(est)......lg4 19.75.....lg5 14.....lmb 50

inside spread 38.5" mass 55.5"
xtra point 15" (est)
total as a 6x6 368 (est)
total nt 383

measure it urself, u know where its at, but those r the numbers. ask anyone at pauls booth if score is that big of a deal.

Cool

Cool... Now I want to get my Antlers repaired... hmm are fake antlers the same as a boob job ?

Looks great but costs alot ?

I'm not very good at quilting or sewing but I can make a nice Grenade Launcher

RE: Cool

the horn repair was very affordable. paul only charged me $350 for the horn repair. all the other taxidermists i looked into wanted $50/inch! I couldnt believe paul's work came so cheap. I almost felt guilty writing him that check

Awesome bull! Congrats on the great trophy!!! Taxi did an amazing job and even cooler that you have live pics of him! Congrats again!!! Justin

Nice looking bull and some great memories to go with it I'm sure. That's the best thing about a mount. It's not looking at it and saying, "wow look at my 380 bull". I look at everyone of mine and can relive the whole hunt like it was yesterday. Very cool.

It's always an adventure!!!

AWESOME!! Great job SS! Having the live picture totally validates fixing the broken points. I would have done the same.

Congratulations on a great bull!!

thanks guys. i thought it was a fitting end to put him on display in utah since it was your home i killed this bull in. i thought it would be neat for the guys who knew the whole story from start to finish to see the end result regardless of the score. he may not be a 400 but thats the look of the bull i was going for. Thats my best bull to date and doubt i will ever beat that bull or the experience. I think hes awesome and am darn excited about him still. Now QT says shes gonna beat that when she goes hunting near flagstaff arizona next year. we will see lol.

STINKY...
It was awesome to see your bull at the expo. I had followed your posts and your adventure from day one, til you harvested that beauty... I didnt know much about Paul Pennie until i saw his work at the EXPO... he does an AWESOME job!!!
