Thought I would throw this out. In your opinion is a wood plaque or no plaque look better behind a mount?

I personally don't have plaques on any of mine , but have seen a couple that look good , they were exceptional mounts and the plaques fit well . I like europeans , without plaques as well , but also have seen some that look good ....NMHUNTNUTT

No plaque.

1-It's tough to get a nice lookin piece of wood to look go behind it.

2-You're always dealing with a lot of dust on the plaque.

3-A bucks bling bling should be on his head not on his neck.

I'd have to say no plaque for a shoulder mount. A Euro may be a different story though.

I like the plaque pretty well. Especially that one. It seems just the right size. I've seen some that were to big/small which I didn't like.

I have one antelope with plaque and one without. Still looking for that big mule deer:(

the plaque makes the antlers look a bit smaller. but for european mounts, plaques are a must!

LAST EDITED ON Mar-02-06 AT 04:49PM (MST)[p]I'd only the put plaque on there if you plan to put the deers a$$ on the other side of the wall - lol.

Just a little joking around. Really, I prefer no plaque.

No wonder Bobcat is always so wound up, teeth must be hurting him alot lately and trying to get some sort of relief by venting his aches.

Sorry Bessy,

Brian

No plack for the shoulder mounts, small plack for the euro mount so as to not overshadow the horns.

No plaque on shoulder mount

Plaque a necesssary evil on skull cap (horn/antler only) mounts.

a small engraved brass plaque at eye level on the wall with a score, year and state is nice once you get up to 6 or more mounts. (I've only got 5 to go!)

Damn HH.....you got a messed up picture for everything. :) That thing is just wrong!! Makes my teeth look good though. :)
