Wyo type 9 worth max pts?

Is there a unit that is worth using max pts. on a type 9 non-res archery tag? I've been doing research and alot of type 9 tags end up in the leftover lottery (9 out of 17 units in 08). Units around the Bighorns seem to be the only ones in demand. I hunted unit 60 type 9 in 07, took a small 6x6 w/ Yellowstone Outfitters. My problem with getting a firearm tag and then buying the archery is that I'll never be able to come back w/ the rifle if unsuccessful w/ the bow. Being a farmer from the east coast I'm up to my neck in field work(harvest) for all of oct. and some years into nov. I'm just thinking ahead for 2011. I would also need an outfitter, DIY is not really an option. Any comments would be appreciated.

If you can not come out west during the rifle hunt dates anyway......then ya kinda answered your own question on the Type 9 Archery only units.

The Leftover elk tags are from the Resident draw and are available first come-first served as of 2009......ressy or non-ressy...

A couple of those Bighorn Mountains units produce some of the biggest bulls year in year out for Wyoming....#35--#40 is a round number for those units.

You might be able to go to the Wyo Outfitter org and get some info and some references as you plan on going in 2011.

Sure, you can archery hunt if you go for the Type 1 tags and draw. $30 for Archery stamp and the Conservation Stamp is $12.50 I believe.

Hope this helps ya out somewhat?
