Hello Fellas,

I've been reading the comments on the forum for a while now, and for the most part have enjoyed visiting. I have not participated up to this point, but thought that some of you may like to see some photos snapped by a family friend recently. The pics come from an area near Afton, about 200 yards from my brother-in-law's home. There are quite a few deer that winter in the area. The cat killed a deer and moved it into the area where the photos were taken (across a road). It fed on the carcass for the next 3 days and stayed in the area allowing several people to view and photograph it. The lion didn't seem to be affected much by the proximity to homes or human interaction.

Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures and sharing them with us. They do act like the top dog don't they,, even their tracks in the snow seem to have a swagger to them.

Acafton,
Welcome to MM. Thanks for posting the pics, very cool. I have spent thousands of hours in the woods and have never seen a lion. I have felt them though, if you know what I mean. All opinions and espescially pics welcome!

I'm new hear also.. Nice pic. You ned to get that cat! The mule's will thank u for it. elkay

Too many of those near here (Star Valley). Lions are not uncommonly seen about in daylight and within a few hundred yards of town. We had two seen a half mile up the canyon on the east edge of Afton last week.

First off , welcome to Monster Muleys , glad to have a new guy here . Those are some cool pics , but I agee with the above post , that cat can be dangerous now that its adjusted to humans , best thing is just report it and let G&F handle it , unless it acts agressive and then just administer the lead implant yourself...Again welcome and thanks for sharing ...NMHUNTNUTT

Welcome, I'm fairly new here as well although like you I read for a while before posting. I've learned a lot on the site some of it even positive and helpful. Great pictures, thanks for posting. In Nebraska cats have even moved into Omaha and at the most busy intersection a cop 2 years ago managed to injury himself trying to shoot a darted cougar that staggered out of the bushes in a yard. I've always wanted to see one in the wild none yet although I have seen tracks on several occasions, really gives you the chills when predator calling.
