So of all the units that are in Garfield County... which is your pick as the best one for a big early limited entry bull? and why is that unit your pick?

I believe Boulder is partially in Garfield county so that is my bid. Honestly it is remote enough that you don't get a ton of people, and it so big that you can cover a lot of country. There are a ton of elk, and a fair percentage of them are mature bulls. I have hunted deer and elk up there and I would put in for the early rifle on there but I am in Logan going to school. So I put in for the Pahvant with my 1 in 1,000,000 odds of drawing because I am not going to have time to hunt elk next fall. But the Boulder is my top.

I am a little sketchy on county lines, but then I would go Beaver, Dutton, Panguitch Lake, and Pausaugunt repectively.

I mostly hunt deer on the Zion and Panguitch Lake with my bow, and getting a deer is easy, but there elk are a little tougher to find. I have been withing 50 yards of probably 10 bulls in my life on Panguitch during the bow hunt. But every fall during the cow elk hunt we see lots of bulls.

Go Boulder or Beaver if you still need to put in for the draw they are both hot for the early rifle, and you have never heard bulls fire off bugles like you will on the boulder.

I call them the choir on Boulder, because they sing all day up there during the rut.

thanks... I live in Logan myself... I have heard and read good things sbout Boulder and some of the other units you mentioned in Garfield County... Sounds like Boulder is a decent place to get out and get away from the people.... ANYONE else have a thought on the best early unit in Garfield County?????

Dutton seems to be the big dog right now. It's a harder unit but that's why it has bigger bulls. How many points are you looking to burn? That could be a big decision maker.
