Question about Montana unit 700 for deer and elk

I have a friend of the family that has offered to let me hunt on his place in unit 700 in Montana. This is a draw unit for deer and elk but apparently its unlimitted for archery. Before I spend over 600 dollars on the combo license for this hunt I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they thought it would be a good archery unit in case I didn't draw a rifle tag?
Thanks for any information,
ds

700 is in the eastern half of MT, so it is pretty wide open. I'm sure the muley hunting is good, and if the ranch is close enough to the Breaks to have elk on it, then it is probably good too. Get a name of a town and I'll tell you more. Also, try putting in for antelope (rifle) as the odds are good and there are a ton of them over there.

Brusett is just a crossroads sign with a couple ranch houses close by. The closest town (Jordan) about 28 miles to the east. If the ranch backs up to the breaks you may see some elk. The breaks can get steep and once inside it all looks the same. Take GPS with you. Archery gets hit with a good number of people and elk move quickly to the nasty stuff or to areas not hunted much. Timber open and hard to stalk close enough for bow shot.If you look at elk kill ratio reported it is about 5% for bow and 90% for gun. Recommend glassing a lot and moving to where you see elk the next day for an ambush and hope you dont see two other groups of hunters that saw the same elk. Put in for rifle tag. Almost impossible to get. I have not drawn in 6 trys. If it rains you will get stuck. The mud is like axle grease (gumbo)and you have to use chains. You can not even crawl up a hill if wet. Talked to a guy last year that went in for a 3 day hunt and came out 8 days later after rain. I will be hunting there third week in November for mule deer if I draw a tag. If your friend is willing to rent a room or cabin please let me know. I usually drive back and forth to Jordan.
