Am I reading my paper work right they say that you have 2 pay 5.48 for a raffle ticket and then if you get drawn wich is a good chance with 1500 deer permits, then u have 2 buy a additional tag for 164.25 on top of your original deer tag thats allot of cash to get to hunt deer thru all 3 seasons

Well...you don't buy a raffle ticket, you buy an application. Just like you pay $5.48 for a special hunt application (deer, elk, bighorn sheep, moose, or mountain goat.) Also, we don't really know what the chances are of drawing since this is the first year they've had it. What if 30,000 people apply. Odds will only be 1 out of 20, which isn't that bad, but not good either. I agree the cost is high but if it wasn't everybody would apply for it. It's too much for me, I know that. I would rather take a week off work and hunt the rifle season for 9 days straight. For guys with the money, and especially guys who are limited to hunting mostly on weekends, I would think the $164 would be well worth it.

I have bought applications for both. Do you have to do anything further. The dealers who I have spoken to seemed to not even understand what I was talking about. Do you have to submit it via phone/internet?

it is a little steep if you draw it, but its worth it to me, i would love to hunt deer for almost three months, not so hot on the elk, even though i did buy a application for it, but hey, i guess ya could pattern the elk to get the chance to take a trohy spike. as far as i know you either call the number or go to a license dealer and it is automatically submitted once you purchase it, am i right?

That is the way I took it, but wanted to make sure that I was being told correctly.

$164 for the multi season tag on top of your original deer or elk license. A little steep but depending how you look at it. Worth it to me to get to hunt that much for deer. Not so much elk. Also allows you if you draw to apply for permits in any weapon type.
