Check out the breaking news on the front page of www.wildidahonews.com 5,240 acres (affecting 5,760 acres total) for 1,550 acres of private in-holdings in the Danskin Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) area of unit 39? Sounds bad for those of us without deep pockets who still would like a chance at a once-in-a-lifetime buck.

I plan to read the document from the USFS to get full details first, (if they published the whole truth) but probably the office will be getting a letter from me.

I hope this doesn't take place. I will make sure that I send a letter. That Unit doesn't need anymore private land!

It is nearly impossible to get a tag out there anyway and if this goes through even if you do get a tag it just makes it that much harder to find somewhere to get a good buck. I have heard from several people that f&g are going to change the boundaries on the muzzleloader hunt and give more doe tags out for that unit if anybody knows anymore about this I would like to know the rest of the story

LAST EDITED ON Mar-16-06 AT 03:38PM (MST)[p]It would be a shame to lose the access in this unit. Though I haven't hunted it, I sure would like to be able to some day. I will definitely be sending out a letter opposing this sale. Any other MM members worth their salt should be sending a note also. They want your backyard next! We need to do everything we can to oppose the sale of our prime hunting lands to the highest bidder. Please join in!

From what I understand, the USFS local office was trying to "back-door"this deal through without much(if any)public input.Everyone that uses this site should send a message to the USFS in regards to this situation. This same area is also under consideration for Pres Bush's public land sell-off.Too bad 90% on here won't do anything but complain to each other about it.Later,N.T.

If somebody would please post again when it's up for public comment, that would be great, otherwise I'll forget when the time comes.
