NM Professional Big Game Hunting, Inc.

Hunted with him in 2007 during the first muzzy hunt in October after the youth hunt. Saw a lot of elk, we were in elk everyday. Never did take a bull, was holding out for something exceptional. Nice accomodations, we stayed at the cabin at Micks house. Not sure what kind of hunt you are looking for but it can be accommodated with these guys. I would hunt with them again if I am ever lucky enough to draw a tag. Hope this helps.

If your a youth hunter its not hard to find 330 bulls and see up to 30 bulls a day. However if your on the first muzzy hunt you better know how to hunt with the pressure. I've seen his work first hand many years and I would say you shouldn't expect anything more than a 270 type bull. I also would have to let you know I personally think he's the worst choice you could make for a guide. I've seen the way that man hunts and I'm pretty sure you would be sadly dissapointed with the outcome of your hunt. The final decision is ultimately yours but there are much better guides in the area. If your going that direction call Carlton Armstrong at the quemado grocery store. He can hook you up with top notch guides and a tag. He's the local broker for all the tags and one top notch guy if you ask me.

Just my two cents

I hunted with mick not long ago on a muzzleloader hunt. Talk about someone who knows his stuff. I would not book with anyone else but Mick. His accomadations are great and he lives in Elk country 12 months out of the year. By the way I missed 3 bulls that were all my fault. One was close to a 360-370 bull. Good guides also.

So you were one of the 5 hunters he personally guided on the muzzy hunt that was on top of that knob approximately 6 miles due west of largo mesa. You know, the year he was doing a 5x1 hunt and set on top of a hill with his radio and guided the hunters into that 5x5 that one of the hunters shot. Then he gets on the radio and tells the guys nice shooting you just shot a 330 5x5! LOL! That bull was no more than 250 but the hunters didn't know any better. That was also the same day we had to remind him repeatedly to get off the deeded ground he kept sending his hunters to. Or were you in there 2 years ago when in the same area he loaded up 2 bowhunters in the back of one of his guides red chevrolets, had them knock arrows, and flew 90 mile an hour across the pasture to intercept the bulls that were coming into my dads water hole. How bout 4 years ago when I had to beat his hunters to the bull I shot which was a 340 6x6? That was also on deeded ground and mick swore that bull I shot was 370! What about 5 years ago when 2 fellows from New York hired him to guide them and he was over booked for the archery and he hired a local highschool kid to guide them. They walked around throwing rocks in canyons trying to scare out a bull. They quit hunting with mick and stared hunting with double diamond. The wisest course of action is to actually go to the area and talk with the locals. He doesn't have any friends and just about everyone down there guides for someone and most refuse to guide for him. Mick himself knows how to hunt elk and there is no doubt about that but his business ethics are lacking.
