In the early 80's I was hunting in the Uncompaghre national forest south of Delta , Colorado .

I met a fellow there who had taken a nice buck and wanted to quarter it up and put on ice as the weather was quite warm . Problem was he didn't have a camera . So I took pix and got his address to send them to him when I returned home . Yes , I lost his address. I have regretted not getting his pix to him and since I started using a computer it occurred to post the pic in places like this hoping he or someone who knows him will see it .

Don't know the deer nor the hunter.
Noble thing you are doing though.
Hope it works out for the best in the end!

That would be a story in itself.

Do you remember his name and which state he was from? Even a last name, I might be able to help you by searching as that is something I like doing and have been good at finding classmates and "old Army" buddies.

That's a beautiful buck. If you're successful in finding the hunter after 20+ years, I'm betting he will be absolutely thrilled to finally get the pictures.

A guy did that to me once about 4 years ago. Took pictures of me & a friend with huge steelhead. Gave him my work & home e-mail & he said he would e-mail em. Never to be seen again. That is a nice buck & he probably looks at the mount every day in his house.

My buddy landed a huge salmon last year.
No camera (I wasn't there).
Guy said he would mail him a pic.
Nothing.
Yes, this is a very noble cause.
Good on you!

Don't know him but I am in Texas so I will keep an eye out for him - only 33 million people in the state. I'm bound to run in to him sometime!
