LAST EDITED ON Mar-28-06 AT 01:14PM (MST)[p]I just bought a Rugar 77/17 .17HMR. I put a bushnell rainguard elite 3200 3x9x40. The gun keep shooting to the right. I finally cranked it all the way to the left, and it still shot right. So I put a tasco 3x9x40 that was on my .223 on it. In three shots, I had it zeroed in. I put the bushnell on my .223 also a rugar M77 Mark II. In three shots I had that scope and gun zeroed in. So I just left the scopes as they be...but my question is. What yardage should you zero in a .17 HMR. I zeroed mine at fifty. But the wind came up so I couldn't see what kidna groups it shot a 100. But my fifty yard groups I could cover with a quarter. So I would appricate any imput. Thanks..

Your sight in distance all depends on what your going to do with it. For squirels and maybe rabbits, the 50 yd zero is great. if your going after prarie dogs, maybe stretch it to 75 or 100. As dar as your scope problem, it sounds like a simple installation error, seeing that it fixed itself on another gun.

I have a Savage 93r17 bull barrel. I sighted in @100 yds.
You can cover 5 holes with a dime. Check out Rimfirecentral.com
They have a ball. chart comparing 17hmr, 17hm2, 22mag.
