glassing for deer

This may be a dumb question in a way but I was wondering how some of you glass for mulies. Everything you read about it says to sit and glass, then glass again, and when your done glass again.
My question is how do you know if the area is worth glassing so much? I know scouting plays a major role. I know where to sit and glass and glass where I hunt in AZ, however I have been in CO for a couple years and will be here for a couple more.
I have found some great looking country, and scouted it a bit last year. I was just wondering if most people just find a good ridge/hill to glass from and its hit or miss, or do you scout the area pretty hard where you glass, or just generally? Does any of this make sense? Thanks for any advice.

I would say the biggest factor in knowing where to glass in general, is to know what types of vegetation the deer like to hang out in for the time of year you are hunting and for the area you are hunting in. Then when you look for and find similar setups, they look 'bucky' and usually are.

Pre-scouting is a major factor. I like to start first early in the year and cover as much ground in the area where I am going to hunt as possible. I look for food resources, cover, general deer population and overall "huntability". Then once I have located a good area, then I will sit and glass and glass and glass and glass. But I am not always as patient as I should be and end up moving around quite a bit still. If I locate a good buck in an area once or twice before the season - he will generally be in the area later, or he will come back to it. So don't give up on the area - but if you are restless and impatient like me - it can pay to change vantage points within the same area. At least you can keep from getting bored stiff!
