I have drawn a tag for the Wasatch this year. I am wanting to take my camp trailer up to strawberry there and leave it for the summer and the fall, so I don't have to tow it back and forth everytime I go up there to scout. Can you guys fill me in on if I can legally do this and what the exact regulations are?

It depends on where you are going to park your trailer. On private you can do whatever you want. If you are talking about forest services land or BLM ,I believe its 16 days in one spot then your have to move 2 miles or more. The kicker is it can't be unattended for more then 48 hours.
I dont have the regulations in front of me. It may be you have to move the trailer 5 miles or more ? I will have to look it up or maybe someone here can correct me before I find it .
I know some areas strictly inforce this to the letter or even more. Not sure how strict they are up in the strawberry area.

If that is what you want to do then you better be looking for some Private property or a KOA. there is NO PLACE you can park your trailer and leave it for the summer.

Strawberry Bay Marina has a dry storage area that you can leave your trailer at when you are not up in the valley. I can't remember the cost per month, but it is fair. The Phillips family will take care of you!

After 16 days you have to move the trailer at least 3 miles and it cant be unattended for more than 48 hours .... trust me I know I recieved a warning ticket a couple of years ago.

Echoing the above, the FS was ticketing last year; talk with the Marina about storing it. I had to do the same thing on Fishlake NF, the locals were pretty decent to work with.

+1 16 day limit and then it has to be moved and it needs to be occupied every 48 hours.

You had to store your tent when you where up at fish lake ?
HA HA When I was up there i thought I saw you in a tent that summer.

I have 6 ac between Strawberry and Starvation located in the Cedar Mountain tract(southside of Hwy40) it Lot 258 if you can find it you can camp on it. Has a main rd going by the front of it.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-17-10 AT 11:50PM (MST)[p]Yes I did. I was warned about the FS being strict about it. Pulled up my whole camp at 14 days, stored it at Bowery, put it back up. The damn Bounder next to me never moved, and I never saw anyone around it-I wondered if someone was dead inside!

Gator, you are a right decent fella (despite was some say )

There is no secure storage areas on the mountain. I don't think I have seen any in Korsherm, maybe Loa.

Well Geez, John, I am glad to know you ain't dead then!!

I don't know of any secure storage up there, either.

Gator,

I hope you aren't messing with us. If I drop camp on 258 and wake up with a hillbilly(not named Gator) pointing a gun at me telling me that I am tresspassing I won't be to happy!

Hi, I live and work at strawberry bay marina, if you want to store your trailer here in our storage area it costs $300 for the season (May- Oct) or $75.00/month. It is close to pull it out and set up camp in the forest. Just call and reserve a spot@ 1-435-548-2261, thanks. Good luck hunting. We do provide guide huntig if interested. Come see the bulls taken here in the last few years , includung the 391 bull I took here last year.
