Any Hits Yet for Book Cliffs Roadless Archery?

I check my card almost ten times a day now but havnt got any hits
for my very hopeful books roadless archery elk tag. Not even a gen
archery deer hit on it yet! Just wondering if anybody drew that tag
and with how many points?

I got lucky and drew with 6 pts as a resident.

I'm about in the same boat. I put in with 7 as a resident so maybe
Ill follow your lead and get lucky. I'm pretty sure they increased
the tags for that hunt as well. What did you end up killing?

JACO killed one of the biggest bulls on the mountain last year. Go ahead Jason, Send him the links. Also. If you go to the Hunt Odds page here on MM and click on the Roadless area, you can see a few bulls that have been take out of there..

That's a nice lookin bull, probably not in the top 5 of bulls taken
out of there last year but still a awesome bull. I'm pretty sure I
have video of your bull rubbing his velvet off. Ill check my tapes
and get back to ya. Nice pics though, where did you hit him for a 4
day track job?

Thanks, I am definitely interested in video of him. I don't have any pics or video of him on the hoof. I hit him in the vitals, it was good shot placement. The direction he went was just next to impossible to track, it was very difficult to find blood or even tracks. I mapped it out on Google Earth, and he made it 2 miles from where I hit him.

So did you end up drawing your tag? It seems like most of the credit cards should have been hit by now.

Well that's great you kept on him and found him! I havnt seen anything
on my debit statement yet but my gen archery deer hasn't shown up
on it either and I'm sure I have that tag so ill just have to wait
till they post em up or I get the email I guess. I would figure
that people should be getting the emails here any day now. Two of
my clients have called me that drew that unit so it looks like ill
be back on the books this year for sure whether I draw or not. I'm
gonna try to make some time this wknd to look through my tapes for
your bull but ill lyk what I find.

Looks like I followed your lead and 6pts is the lucky number! I let out
out a pretty good yeeee hawww at work today when I found out! I'm sure you heard it around
5 o'clock! My boss asked me if I won the lottery and I said YES, YES I DID!

Killshot, Do you guide in the Books? We may have crossed paths. We have been in there hunting or helping the last 8 years. We have met some really good people up there the last few years.. here is some of our success. Not with a stick and string, but still nice bulls..

Opening day, Yes I guide elk and muley hunters on the books every year. I'm
sure we've more than likely crossed paths a few times out there. Those are
some good looking bulls you guys have put down over the years. Do you
guys come in from the north or the south?

We come in out of Thompson. We usually have a big camp right in Bogart Canyon. Do you take many Muley guys into the Roadless. We have seen some really nice bucks in there, but there just isn't that many deer compared to the Roaded side. Which side do you come in from??

Both my dad and I were successful in drawing out the LE Archery Bull Elk - Little Creek unit. We both had 6 points. We are so excited. Any help, advise, tips or direction would be appreciated.

Good luck this year on the Cliffs. It's going to be great!
