Need Wasatch Guide with horses

Last year my 78 yr old Dad from PA drew the early Wasatch rifle hunt and I asked for help from MM members and received numerous emails guiding me in the right direction, as we shot a nice 6x6. One post I received had information about a guide that would take 2 people in on horse back for a 5(?) day hunt for about $2500. Anyone remember giving me that info and can give it to me again as my brother from PA drew the tag this year. We will be much more mobile this year as both my brother and I are in good shape an able to hike. Thanks

Guide laws in Utah changed this year. There isn't alot of legal guides now. However, Jim would take care of you, give him a jingle.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-28-10 AT 08:27AM (MST)[p]Ask Southslope82...He has a archery tag on Wasatch this year and he has horses. Hope you don't mind me throwing your name out there Southslope82.

Hey, The pennsylvania boys! I talked to you guys several times on the mountain last year, it's great to know you got one down. I'd love to hear the story and where you ended up killing him.(PM?).

We were camped at the horseshoe overlook where you guys were looking the day before the opener.

Congratulations!

Tye

Jim Hiatt of AWLB is your man, he'll see this thread and chime in. He's getting up there in aga, so he's a little slower than us young bucks ;-)

Funny you mention that . . .I just got back from WalMart getting some reading specs!!! Pretty soon I will be filling out my AARP card and standing at the mailbox for my SS check!

I'm not sure where on the Wasatch you are hunting but there are rare places that you can't pack a camp into on your back. Horses will come in handy when you get one down but if it were me I wouldn't worry too much about packing in a camp. I can't think of any place on the Wasatch you can't hike to and be there at first light if you left the truck by 0400. I have never been opposed to helping a guy pack an elk out so if you guys get one down and you don't have horses I will PM you my phone number and you can call me anytime. I will even tell you where we are camped and you can come in for a cold one. By the way, slamdunks phone number is (555)wil-pack.

It's always an adventure!!!

alot of guys will help because they didn't drew a tag LMAO I too would worry about just packing out the meat everything else can be take care of by walking in or you can rent horses and ride in each day(that what I like to do no matter where I'm hunting)
