My luck in the elk draw.

Since this has been a bad year for me at work and the carry over to home I thought I would post how a drew a NR Utah elk tag.

In years of the paper application I would have my wife, kids, and dog touch the envelope before it was mailed. This worked twice in Nevada for deer and antelope. Since it's on-line now this method doesn't work.I let my wife pick the unit and decide muzzy or rifle. I narrowed down the units for her. Knowing my wedding anniversary is the 9/25 I was thinking I would be applying muzzy. Well she picked early rifle, and I applied.

That nigh I had to work overtime to pay the bills. I am a public servant. I get called to an injured bald eagle in a tree screaming. I though for certain it would be a screatch owl or soemthing along those lines. I show up and find two bald eagle fighting in a tree. Long and short the loser fell to the gound injured. My boss said don't touch it(city boy)the eagle ran into some bushes. It is 10 p.m. and dark. After a skirmish I got the 6 year old bird in a blanket and into a dog crate, he was fixed up and release a couple weeks later. As I sat and thought about it, I thought that may help me in the draw alittle Karma coming my way. 2 weeks before the draw I get a call my credit card number was stolen. Well just my luck, after checking several times no hits on the new card I figured all was lost again this year. I saw a post on here that made me check again, and I checked and got my hit. Bottom line stay ontop of the good deeds. JB

And the state cops got the credit for the eagle in the paper!!

Good things happen to good people, which is why I never can draw anything!

Karma, baby.......

I usually let my wife hit my submit button only, so I guess I have to let her do more choosing more me. She is certainly the lucky one in my family. After all, she got me didn't she??? No, I have to say I am the lucky one there. Couldn't have picked a better woman if I tried!

I guess I really need to let her hit my buttons more often. After all, that way I get lucky either way!

Txhunter58,
Back in 2004 I let my wife pick a sheep unit in Idaho. She is very analytical. I drew on my 2nd year of applying. I try to get the whole family involved, it works for me. JB

Hey John,

A couple weeks ago I saw two young boy scouts scalping candy bars like I use to do in front of Fred Meyers. So I stopped and asked each one to pick out their favorite. So they did, bothed picked the same one. So I payed for both and gave them right back to them. Their smiles were priceless. So the next day I attend a benefit dinner for a troop that had a stroke and buy a few raffle tickets to help out. At the end of the night I picked up a pair of brand new swarovski binos, 10X40 SLC and a .17 Savage with a thumbhole stock. I never win anything, but I think that Karma thing is working. Since it is the draw season everyone one of those kids hawking candy is going to get their favorite on me.

Keith, we always get the credit....

Karma is for real, I have had tons of experiences, and hope I have more coming.

Rub some dirt on it, ya sissy!

Good to here, Rich I hope you pull a good tag. Swaro's and rifle, wow. I say give until it hurts. JB

Well Karma hasn't helped my spelling, which is obvious. I need to turn the Karma off on the tags if I draw another tag I will selling candy bars infront of Fred Meyer.
