I took this buck on the 2nd day of the Wyoming rifle season just east of Jackson Hole. the deer in this area typically migrate towards the lower country as the rut kicks in. i think it was around the 12th of November. I found this guy with a small forky and three does during the middle of the day as they were feeding out from a patch of dark timber. 40 yards at the shot and he only went 10 feet. what a great hunt!
Great looking mount...I have ill feelings though when I read Chef's reply...I'm still waiting for the mount of the buck I shot in '04...killing me. I guess the memory will be that much better!!!
For some reason I don't think the picture does your buck/mount justice. I bet the buck on the wall looks far better than that picture. Congratulations on a great buck and great hunt.
you are right on. on the wall looks 10 times better. my ceilings are 18' so it is hard to get a good angle. either way i am very pleased and hope to do it again if i can draw the tag.
