Phavant Archery Elk

LAST EDITED ON May-08-10 AT 07:02AM (MST)[p]I drew an archery elk tag on the Phavant!! Was hoping for some pointers on scouting areas ( PM me )? I know a couple of guys that have hunted it in the last five years that are also giving me some help. Will be making a lot of trips this summer.

Is there anyone with any sucess stories and pics of recent archery hunts?

How many points did it take you to get the tag? I have 8 and went rifle on the Pahvant because I don't have enough time this fall to hunt the archery hunt. I did not draw.

I don't know the area, but I recommend using trail cameras over water holes.

I had 11 pts. going into the draw.

The plan as of now is to hunt opening weekend, then home till the next Thursday then I'm off for 3 weeks. I could take the whole hunt, but I might get burned out.

I know a few guys that have had archery tags and were mental spent, They came home empty handed before the hunt was over

My buddy took a 387 bull on the archery hunt there two years ago and last year guided a friend of his on the Pavant but he blew a 20 yard shot at a 400+ bull.
